Miracles Are Our Inheritance
Miracles are our inheritance. When we read the Gospels, it is very clear that Jesus moved in supernatural power. He received this power when He was baptized in the Holy Spirit at the same time He was water baptized by John the Baptist. His ministry was to bring Heaven to earth and as that happened, supernatural miracles, healing’s, deliverance’s and signs and wonders happened wherever He went. Jesus’ ministry was teaching and demonstrating the kingdom of God. The result – the word went out and people came for miles to see Him. Jesus taught the word of God and then demonstrated the power of God.
The recipe worked for Jesus. He commanded the church to do the same in the great commission. The unbelieving world and most of the church need to see a church teaching the Word of God (which it is generally doing) and demonstrating the power of God (which generally it is not doing). The supernatural ground must not be abandoned and left for the enemy to occupy with new age and witchcraft.
Luke in his writings clearly saw the mission of the early church as being simply the continuation of the mission that Jesus had initiated. The church is the main instrument of the kingdom of God here on earth. The church’s job is to proclaim and demonstrate the same kingdom which Jesus declared was at hand in Mark: 1:15. Jesus gave a mandate to his disciples to proclaim and demonstrate the kingly rule of Christ. This mandate has never been revoked or changed and the end of the Mark’s Gospel explains that the disciples proclaimed the good news and experienced God confirming their words through supernatural signs (Mark 16:20).
The question today is are you following this mandate? As Christians this is your earthly inheritance. Don’t miss out on your inheritance. Jesus was successful because He was obedient to his Father. Lets become obedient and start believing and praying for the supernatural to break out through your life.
